Mandrakes

Laying sprawled over an open field,
I gaze longingly at the heavens
above.
The voluptuous stormclouds of spring hang pregnant
overhead, ready to burst
forth new life into the soil
beneath me.
The gentle April breeze caresses
my naked body softly.
The grass playfully tickles me
from neck to knee.
Then, suddenly,
euphorically,
the thunderheads burst open
releasing life back into the earth.

To Make up for Lost Time

If I only had a minute
for every hour I've passed,
simply wishing to be with you,
how long my life would last.

But, shorter now my life remains
for pining over you,
For believing the love you had for me
ever could be true.

So, I'll pass my time in solitude,
I'll roam from shore to shore.
Forever longing, yearning to find
a love as pure as yours.
